About a month ago we were gifted a toddler bed from the company Delta Children and it was right on time because we were about to start transitioning Carter from his crib to the “big boy bed”. I was able to assemble the bed by myself and it took about 25-30 minutes ( the boys insisted that they helped). Along with the bed we also received a brand new mattress and a mattress protector. This is great because we will soon begin potty training. Again thank you Delta Children for the amazing items. I wanted to share our top 3 quick tips when transitioning from crib to toddler bed.
1. Re Proofing Childs Room: Although we already had our home childproof it important to go back and check EVERYTHING. Making sure all outlets are covered , hide all cords, and don’t forget the blinds from the blinds. If you don’t already have a gate this will be a great time to get one. We also had a very limited amount of toys in his room.
2. Start With Naps: We started him out with only taking naps in the toddler bed. Starting out the naps only will help with adjusting while still being in their comfort zone at night.
3. A lot of Patiences: I can’t count how many time he’d pop out of bed and come to the door way saying “HI”. We’d just place him back in his bed and just reassure him that it was nap time.
I hope this helps your family when the time comes to transition you little one. Feel free to comment down below any questions or tips you may have.
